Not only is Starry Hill a place for kids to come to connect with our universe, it is also a place that, as
much as possible, is run by kids. That's why we have the Star Guides program, now in its seventh year.
For the 2018 stargazing season, we have more Star Guides than ever. Pictured here from left to right, are Vanessa
Lindquist (3 years), Braden Henricksen (7 years), Gwen Pederson (4 years), Ryan Mueller (2 years), Gavin Cole (2
years), Brett Emery (4 years), Autumn Manley (1 year), John Williams (5 years), and Meredith Gottlieb (1 year).
These Star Guides handle a great variety
of tasks... they set up and maintain
equipment, make presentations on telescope use, teach groups how to navigate the night sky, assist guests in
finding targets and even lead people in doing astrophotography. They have collectively given
over one thousand hours of their time to our community. Wow!
