Venus beside the Beehive Cluster June 13, 2023 ⬅︎
The Beehive Cluster (M44) has been known since ancient times since because it is one of the brightest clusters in our sky and can be seen naked-eye from a dark site. It is over 1° across -- far larger than our Moon -- and contains a thousand stars. It the past, it was called Praesepe, which is Latin for 'manger'.

On June 13, Venus, the brightest planet in our sky, will pass by the Beehive Cluster. While it can be viewed naked-eye, it should be spectacular in a binocular or a small telescope using low power from a dark site.
