Venus, Saturn Align January 22, 2023 ⬅︎
Venus and Saturn will appear just 0.5° apart in our sky. For comparison, the width of the Moon is 0.5° (or 30 minutes). Venus, the brightest planet in our sky, will shine at magnitude -3.9. Saturn is far dimmer at only +0.8. The brightness magnitude scale is logarithmic -- so this 4.7 difference translates to Venus being 75 times brighter than Saturn.... wow!

If you have one, view through a telescope to see the phase of Venus (it will be nearly full), the rings of Saturn and, perhaps, a moon or two.
