Star Cluster - M35 in Gemini December 12, 2017 ⬅︎
Our Milky Way contains countless star clusters. Each is unique in shape, size, colors and number of stars. Although many clusters can be seen dimly in binoculars, through telescopes they can appear as dazzling, mesmerizing displays of light.

In the constellation Gemini is found one of the larger clusters known as M35. We've been wanting to image it for years.

Yesterday the weather was cloudy and rainy, but at nightfall the skies cleared up briefly. So we took a chance of imaging M35 using our big 300mm telescope under the dome. We were able to get 30 minutes worth of red, green and blue images and, as soon as the last one was taken, the clouds rolled back in.

Lucky night!
