2013-8-10: New Star Guide Program for Kids ⬅︎
New for our 2013 Stargazing Season is our Star Guide Program. Star Guides are kids from the local area who have a strong interest in stargazing and want to help other kids be successful with stargazing at our annual Star Parties.

We decided to start small with only two Star Guides for 2013 -- Braden and Evan. Both kids first came to Starry Hill years ago with school and scouting groups and were very successful. So when both offered to intern with us for 2013, we jumped at the opportunity.

After intensive training, they helped at several of our Star Parties this summer, staying up very late at each one. They helped by setting up telescopes and other equipment. More importantly, they helped by teaching kids and parents how to use the telescopes and how to find the wonderful treasures of our night sky! In the process, the Star Guides also learned a lot.

We very quickly came to see the value of Star Guide Program and so decided to continue and expand it for 2014. We are now on the look-out for more kids who have the 'right stuff' to be Starry Hill Star Guides!

Thanks Braden and Evan! (And thank you parents also!)
